Compare the compact all-in-one Cortado Xe with the rugged modular Cortado MkIII — form factor, specs, and best use cases.
Zeppelin Design Labs now offers two professional contact microphones. Both deliver balanced XLR output and phantom power operation, but they target different workflows.
Cortado Xe — compact and magnet-friendly
The Cortado Xe integrates sensor, preamp, and cable into a 26mm × 11mm all-steel housing. It is ideal for:
- Acoustic guitar, violin, harp, and other instruments
- Luthier voicing and temporary evaluation
- Any application where low profile and magnet mounting matter
Frequency response: approximately 40 Hz – 40 kHz.
Cortado MkIII — rugged and modular

- Proven durability in heat, cold, and physical stress
- Long cable runs with a balanced low-noise signal
- Field recording and demanding installations
